About Craig

Craig is an experienced consultant, advisor and coach to a range of commercial and charitable organisations, with an approach which is underpinned by 20 years experience of leading and delivering performance and culture change in organisations. His story is not the normal advertised catalogue of success by many consultants – his is a story of some big wins, occasional struggles and at times failure – but these experiences have ensured that Craig is a trusted advisor and consultant in both the good, and the tough times.

After graduating with a Management Degree from Newcastle University, Craig spent two years as the National President of the Educational Charity – AIESEC UK. In this role Craig was responsible for the development and delivery of then Operational Strategy of the organisation in the UK, which consisted of 25 local offices and a body of student volunteers numbering 500+. During this time Craig and his team delivered a 100% increase in volunteer members and a 300% increase in core work results.

The positive outcomes achieved resulted in Craig taking up corporate roles at Vodafone and subsequently PA Consulting. In both organisations Craig was focused upon the development and delivery of strategy and transformation initiatives – covering areas such as Business Planning, Strategy Development, Customer Experience and Organisational Design - in a broad range of industries such as Telecoms, Government, Utilities & Automotive.

Following this Craig moved into the Automotive retail sector where he held Strategy & Marketing Director, Operations Director and Managing Director roles.

During a 10 year automotive career Craig undertook the following:

  • a large-scale rebranding and digital transformation project, turning the business from having no web presence to a market leader within 18 months.

  • Led on the development of a new series of Franchise partnerships.

  • Developed and delivered an ambitious MBO plan, raising £5m from multiple lenders.

  • Led on the acquisition, disposal and closure of a number of business units.

  • managed and mitigated numerous ‘high risk’ commercial disputes.

In 2016 Craig exited the Automotive sector and returned to his first passion – organisational change and people development. Today Craig is engaged in a range of initiatives to drive organisational performance in the corporate, commercial and charitable sectors. With a strong focus on effective leadership, culture change and high-performance Craig is both retained by a number of clients, and operates as an Associate consultant to a number of other consulting providers – helping clients align their purpose and their people to drive performance.

Typical assignments include:

  • Diagnose, Design and Delivery culture change initiatives.

  • Individual and Team performance coaching.

  • Coaching Senior Leaders in delivering organisation wide change.

  • Design and delivery of leadership and change related Management Education Workshops.

  • Educating, Implementing and Coaching around Mental Toughness Initiatives.

Craig compliments his commercial and corporate client work as a Part-Time Lecturer at Leeds Business School, where he delivers undergraduate and MBA programmes around Operations Management and Improvement. This provides complimentary benefits – ensuring that his students can benefit from real life examples of management theory in practice, whilst ensuring clients receive advice and recommendations based upon sound research and evidence.
